MAGGOTAPPLEWONDERLAND-SHARDS OF SUBTLE BEING

As it's title indicates, "Shards of Subtle Being" is about an uneasy sense of urgency, namely the shape of things to come and the direction our world is headed. Largely abandoning their debut's abstract, creep-rock aesthetic, MAGGOTAPPLEWONDERLAND have instead focused their efforts on a cohesive epic of degenerate noise and ghostly melodies tucked inside call and response arrangements between the living and the dead. The dramatic arc of these songs are built around the way instruments lurch into place while encrypted field recordings manage to deliver the meaning behind the album. Each song cleverly dovetails into something altogether dramatic and physical, drawing the listener in; all the while painting a dismal mural of jagged sounds and graveyard lullabyes.
